Vanir was right, I did indeed get a refusal letter from LightSky yesterday. I sent them a message in an attempt to determine what went wrong, all initial indications from professionals that understand things like this point to something internally. I thought they were excited about getting me on board over there, but something must’ve happened.
I guess I need to look at this like a good opportunity to attempt to stay closer to home, or to go running to Microsoft should they get back to me. At least this way I’ll be able to train with the guys at home and be close to Tasha and my family for awhile longer after school finishes at the end of this week. Yeah, I’m disappointed that I’m not going to get to work for a company so close to my skillset, but at the same time I’m not discouraged from job hunting quite yet.
It’s going to take a lot more rejection than that to get me down. Thanks to everyone that has offered their wellwishes and support so far, I really do appreciate it. If you know anyone looking for a programmer with a Masters Degree, let me know. 🙂
