We ended up crashing about 3:30 am or so, and we all slept well into the day on Sunday. We then went to IHOP where we had the worst waitress ever.
In order for me to relay the level of stupidity that this girl maintained, I must explain the screwed up orders: Matt ordered a Monster Cheeseburger with bacon and no tomato, I ordered mine with only bacon, and Tasha ordered a breakfast platter with bacon instead of sausage. The girl delivered Matt’s order with tomato, mine without bacon, and Tasha’s meal with no sausage -> bacon conversion.
We called her back to have her make it right. She apologized profusely, and went to get bacon for Tasha and I. Matt elected to remove his own tomato, so he was taken care of. The girl brings out a plate of bacon and leaves us alone. This is fine, I install my bacon, Tasha eats hers, Sarah’s meal eventually arrives.
The check comes, everything is straight on for Matt and Sarah’s food. Mine, however, showed a charge for $2.50 or so for a side of bacon, while Matt’s addition of bacon was only $.60. I called the girl over to make her fix it, citing that Matt’s bacon upgrade was cheaper than $2.50. I was annoyed at this point. She goes away, and five minutes later she comes back and explains that she was only able to reduce it to $1.19, because she brought out more bacon than we needed. I momentarily contemplated arguing the point that Tasha’s bacon needed swapped out and that shouldn’t have cost me extra, but staring into those big, vacant eyes I knew there was only one choice left for me. If she wanted to charge me so bad for ill-brought bacon, she was buying.
We left no tip, and this was the first time I’ve felt entirely justified in my decision to do so. I plan never to return to this particular IHOP. Bad service angers me greatly.
