Yesterday afternoon I went on a dry run to the Training Center to find out how far away from home it was. Turns out, I’ve actually been down that way before and it’s only about twenty minutes from my house.
That means I have to get up 30 minutes before work. I wonder what my Dad’s excuse is, he’s up at 5 am every day to get to a 7 am shift. To me, that’s about one and half hours of wasted pillow time.
This facility is essentially a large box built out of tan bricks. I do not like buildings that can adaquately be scale-modelled by an upside down cardboard box. They have no character, interest, or anything else. There isn’t even a banner describing what the building is, there is just a sign denoting the corporate affiliation about 100 yards from the entrance. But no matter, I will go there, stay as long as it takes to get trained, and move on to my final destination.
