Day Four, or Please Wedding Hammer Don’t Hurt ‘Em…

I am very proud of myself for being able to get up this early consecutive days in a row. I found after my confession yesterday, that I didn’t sit up thinking about crap so much before I go to sleep. This is something I will have to remember for future crap-induced insomnia.

Yesterday I was informed that personal email is OK, so I figure taking a few minutes at the beginning of the day to update the ol’ blog before my technical lead shows up is also permissable. The only thing I’m going to expressly miss is Trillian… I’ve been told that non-internal instant messaging is something that is Bad. So I’m not even going to attempt.

Today I’m supposed to get a not-quite-so-high level overview of the software I get to support. I’m still trying to get used to this “you’re a salaried worker so you don’t have to spend every moment of your variable eight hour workday slaving over code.” I have some classes I get to go to for the next few weeks, so that will be a good time, but by and large I’m getting paid to learn the ropes. And that’s just awesome.

Right now the Getting Married hammer is beginning to fall and things are getting hectic. Tasha’s got Melf’s Acid Stomach, which isn’t making her that pleasant lately. This will pass once the wedding goes on, I’m sure, but having her feel bad right now sucks the butt. Last night we got the Grand Tour of our new house. It’s small, but cozy.

The plan for tonight is to move the large furniture in, beginning with the L-shaped desk, futon, and bed. After that we will gradually transition the rest of our belongings during evenings and weekends (the ones where we aren’t occupied with the million other things we have to do). I should probably try and get something productive done, so I will depart now.
