I don’t remember ads, but I do remember doing it so that I could modify styles, have more user pictures, and load the page through a PHP script.

Although a fat lot of good most of that did me. :)

I am troubled by this “ads” concept though.

One of the things I’d like to see is their themes go to regular, standard CSS styles. This weird convoluted BS they’re pushing for their themes currently make me cry when I think about jazzing up my journal.

They’ve already expressed a commitment to not fudging the bucket for their customers, so I hope they hold firm to that assertion.

I’ve heard that sort of committment before.

Then again, I don’t hear too many complaints about Moveable Type. We’ll see. It ain’t like we can’t roll our own if it goes south. :)
