Last night was a pretty interesting workout. We did kata all through the first class instead of warmups or anything else. It was pretty good and I was able to work on the relaxation that we’ve been doing on Saturdays. By the end of the first class I wasn’t winded in the least, however the second class was a little more on the tough side. McCabe-san (purple belt) was there and he predictably couldn’t hack it during most of the first class despite his talk to the contrary before class. He’s going to want his brown belt so he’s going to test and it frustrates me how he never stays for the second class and always wants to make lame excuses why he can’t make it through. *mutter*
Before we get to that, I need to share a humorous little story.
The second class was considerably tougher, we did Shodan and Nidan test basics. I was doing somewhat OK during the basics, but when it came to the three way kicks I thought I was going to die and probably looked like it too. Also, my center felt disconnected last night which isn’t a good thing. I’ll work on it some more on Saturday.
