however I need to figure out how to generate more power from those kicks. As it stands, they simply just don’t do enough damage

don’t lean back or come back over the supporting leg when you do the kick. Instead drive forward even moreso. Essentially… if you miss, you’ll fall on your ass. If you hit, you’ll cause pain.

Just a little survival tip from Sam.

Good advice. My problem is my default response is to collapse a bit on my back leg. This must be fixed before I can proceed with sticking it into my opponents.

well… you can fix that two ways:

1) get a heavy bag (preferably not one’s spouse) and practice kicking it with the front leg and not “collapse”ing back onto said leg

2) commit sacrilage and spar in a slightly shallower (gasp) stance.
