There is nothing better on disgustingly cold winter nights than a golden retriever on your feet and a cup of Earl Grey. Also, knowing there is a space heater in the bedroom that can make it 80 degrees in there helps.
I *hate* cold weather. The only reason I put up with it at all is because it can’t seem like Thanksgiving or Christmas without it. There are times when a blast of -17 degree windchill can clear your sinuses, but I’ve not had much luck with that so far this year.
I hate chapped lips, wet socks, cold feet, and that feeling that you can never quite get warm enough. I also really dislike that moment before you step out of bed in the morning knowing that the room is at least 15 degrees colder that it is under the sheets.
But I love Christmas. I love picking out a Christmas tree every year and how dogs react the first time it snows. I just don’t think I would feel the same holiday spirit without windchill and snow… thats why I don’t make for climates more suited to human habitation.
That’s all for now… its almost time to see if that space heater has warmed up the bedroom.

I would have to substitute a cup of hot chocolate and add one beautiful, warm woman.
Capt. Dalcher can have the Earl Grey. I too would take krftsman’s route – as long as the one beautiful, warm woman was the one I was married to. Otherwise, complications could set-in. And the hot chocolate should not have whipped cream on it… The woman however… that’s another story for another time. (And quit groaning).
Well then, allow me…
*AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH*
This beautiful woman is perpetually cold, which is why the golden retreiver is a better option.
And for the record, I agree with both cups – I enjoy a good hot chocolate or a nice cup of Earl Gray, though I take mine with quite a bit of sugar. Honey I reserve for Chai Tea, for those sore throat days.
