Tonight, as my lovely wife and I were getting ready for bed we heard the sound of water hitting linoleum. Upon investigation, we find that the toilet in our non-master bathroom is losing water from its tank every time it fills. Since its losing water, its filling quite frequently.
So it sounds like a job for our Home Warranty. They cover plumbing, and I noticed that they had a website so I went to visit it.
I looked intently for the plumbing category, but did not find it. Instead, I found “Water Closet”. I felt like entering in the following in the description of problem field: “Gol Blimey! Me water closet is wanking off and coverin’ me floors in water and shite!”
That would only be partially true, because its only covering my floor in water. But I wanted to work in the English word “shite”. Either way, I have a person from the plumbing company coming to look at it at a mutually convienent time.
I was afraid that the investment required to renew the home warranty wasn’t going to pay off. The more things that go wrong in the house this year that are covered, the less stupid of a purchase it seems.

as long as the tank and the bowl aren’t broken in some way, replacing the seals and the tank hardware is cheap. ~$25 in part to replace everything inside the tank and the seals, and about 30 min of work once you understand what needs to be done. I replaced it all in my guest bathroom not to long ago
