Suit up, you wanker!

Today marked the day in which and I decided to celebrate our Certified Green Belt at work. You see, we were told last week that we “needed to celebrate in next week’s staff meeting” by our supervisor so in classic / fashion we hatched a plan.

The plan was to go unnecessarily over-the-top and wear suits. We were both excited about this plan (so excited, in fact, that Dave got his shoes shined and everything). Imagine, if you will, the sheer tapestry of swears and angst that now hangs somewhere in the space over Building LC as we arrive at the office today to find that our supervisor has cancelled our staff meeting.

Not to allow this indiscretion to pass, Dave and I plodded over to National City to hassle our supervisor a bit. She was visibly mortified when she realized that we were not, in fact, interviewing for new jobs or having a seperate celebration. She had cancelled our fun for the day. She swore “I didn’t know, and I had no idea you two would dress up for 5 minutes of recognition!” We joked with her and gave her enough of a hard time that she offered to treat the two of us to lunch next week should we elect to suit up again.

So suit up, we will.
