A dream about a general store, Futurama, and beating up children.

A strange dream this morning…

I dreamt that it was my Mom’s birthday and I had to go find her something as a gift. I decided I would get her some new Madame Alexander dolls that she used to collect while I was a kid. There was only one store in town that would have them, a small general store right by the McDonalds on Court Street.

I went down there with my Dad (naturally, since it was after Saturday workout) and went in to shop. Luckily, they were having a sale on these dolls and a lot of other items in the store. I looked over a few, and realized that I forgot which ones my Mom had so this was a pointless endeavor.

I decided to look around for anything that I might want before I went back to find the list I had made detailing this information, and I found a Futurama boxed set that contained all four seasons, a shirt, and an extra “The Making of Bender” DVD. Marked down to $8.50.

I decide that I can wait to buy it, so I head out into the parking lot and I see a vaguely familiar car pull up. It was one of our old blackbelts, Ron, and some of his new dojo cronies. He was restored to his non-drug addled days, and ran right up and gave me a hug and said how good it was to see me. He asked how the oolongdragon kick that he taught me was working out (?) and introduced me to his new dojomates: a guy he referred to as Butch, and a kid that we had in class in the late 90′s whose name I can’t remember but they called him “Sensei Socks.”

At this point Walker-san shows up to talk to Sensei Socks, and he explains to them how the rest of their dojo is pretty neat, they have weekly demonstrations where they display their skills on children. This flashes my mental state to one of these demos, where a two year old kid is dressed up like a pimp and is trying to attack Ron. The outcome, as you know, was terrible.

That’s when I woke up, with oolongdragon kick resonating in my mind. I really needed a day off today, apparently. Damn.
