It appears that my calculation to determine the estimated completion workout was incorrect.
The figure is obtained now by the following formula: ROUNDUP((2000 – A) / B)
Where A = Accomplished and B = Average Kata per Workout.
I have corrected my roundup and will be using the new result from here on out.
Sochin Counter
Accomplished / Goal == Percent Complete
700 / 2000 == 35.00%
Average Kata per Workout: 14.00
Estimated Workouts Remaining: 93
Workouts that gained more than 1%: 16

First off, what was the calculation before? I’m still a math person and seeing calculations is fun for me, so I’m curious.
But second, now I’m confused. This calculation implies that you have 93 workouts left in order to reach your goal because it calculates how many workouts it will take to complete the number of kata left given your average. But I always took the counter to mean which workout number you would finish. But this calculation ignores the workouts you’ve already completed, so that’s not the case here. Which is this counter expressing?
I’m going to need to change the label to estimated workouts remaining. The formula I had before was ROUNDUP(2000/B), which would give the 2006 Workout # when I would reach the goal.
Maybe I should put both on the roundup, I dunno.
