Caution: bullshit detected. Rolling up pant legs…

I’ve been asked by many for an update on my camera refund situation. Since I opened the report with PayPal, I have emailed the seller, called their voicemail twice, and filled out various communications via the PayPal report. It got to the point where I gave them until the end of the day yesterday to respond or else I was escalating this issue.

Around 12:30 am this morning, the seller posted this in response to my assertion that both the “no signs of external damage” and “the camera would not turn on” descriptions were false:

“You bought a camera for parts and or repair. That means that parts of the camera do not work. The parts of the camera are in the interior of the camera and if every part of the camera was working, I would not be selling the camera as repair / parts. I would be selling the camera as functional.”

My reply:

“The point I was attempting to make before was that the two assertions you made in the description of your item: “The camera has no signs of exterior damage. The camera will not turn on” are both patently false. I appreciate the zeal at which you cling to the words “REPAIR/SERVICE” that exist in the auction listing, but the fact of the matter is the bulk of the description of this item was misleading in almost every way. I have exhaustively documented the exterior damage of this camera, and can easily demonstrate that the camera does, in fact, turn on. I did not need a camera that turns on but that does not negate the fact that both of these assertions that you made when presenting your item were inherently false. The exterior parts of this camera are of no use to me as repair parts due to the extensive damage. I have every confidence that you will make this situation right, I look forward to a full refund of $73.99 for this misrepresented, useless item. Once this money is returned to me, I will return the item. Thank you for your time.”

They have one more shot to refund my money, otherwise its going to PayPal for a ruling. I’ll give them time to reply again, but if it goes much past Monday I’m going to close it off and get this thing taken care of. This guy is a world class lowlife.
