This day full of snow finally led to Tasha and I getting the Christmas tree decorated. I woke up with a very bad headache today and it has taken until now for me to lose it, so I wasn’t really much in the Christmas spirit. Tasha suggested that I watch “A Christmas Story”, one of my favorite Christmas movies and it helped quite a bit.
In other news, we were watching some TV today and an ad came on for a new version of the popular Clapper electronic control device, now with a remote to turn the appliances on and off. Several things make me laugh about this, first of which is that this technology has existed for 25 years and is just now getting integrated into this product. Excellent. Secondly, when they were demonstrating the new feature they put a caption up that said “RADIO WAVES WORK THROUGH DOORS AND WINDOWS” as if no one has ever turned on a radio in their house or tuned in a TV station over the air before.
I understand that this product is probably being marketed to the older generation, however they would be MORE prone to know that about radio waves than we would seeing as how prolific radio technology was in their day. They even made hobbyist kits to build their own radios, you don’t see too much of that any more.
Anyway, I got a good laugh from it. You probably had to be there. 🙂
