Next time your accused of being unpatriotic heres something you can give them to think about. Americans have so overextended themselves on credit, thus causing financial woes at numerous financial institutions, that foreigners and foreign countries themselves are buying large chunks of stock in our credit card and mortgage companies to keep them afloat. China just invested how many billion in Citigroup?? Now the stimulus checks. The govt. wants everyone to spend the money and buy things. More than likely those things your buying are made in China or some other country so most of the profit from those sales is going out of the country (yes a small portion stays here as salaries for the service jobs of selling). Your going to use more gas to drive around shopping so theres more money going out of the country. And finally a lot of people are going to charge those purchases or subsequent purhases because they spent all their money and then wont pay their bill at the end of the month. The credit card companies will then make huge amounts of interest, a lot of which will go to their stockholders, so then more money goes out of the country.

Now tell me again how spending the check is patriotic!?!
