You never feel quite as manly as you do when you fix your own toilet. Now granted, it was only the ball-float assembly… but it only cost me $10 and I did it myself!
My other toilet repair I fear is going to be more involved, so I will pay a professional… but seeing as how I did not possess these skills prior to this evening I feel I have accomplished something great.
I’m sure that trickle of water that was running all the time probably only cost me around $0.04/month, but I’m sure it is at least a small savings! Woot!

You might be surprised… last time I checked (in my neck of the woods – not so far from yours), water cost around $7-8 for each 1000 gallons. So, if the leak amounted to 5 gallons or less per month, you were correct, but when it’s running 24/7 the volume adds up fast.
