I’ve decided to do a NaBloPoMo style list tonight, because I’ve been rolling around in the wonderful stink that is my favorite music the last few days. This list comprises my favorite complete albums, where I consider the entire album as a whole and not component individual tracks.
My Top Ten Favorite Complete Albums
- The Beatles – Abbey Road
- The Beatles – Let It Be
- The Beatles – Rubber Soul
- Bell X1 – Flock (or Tour de Flock, live version)
- Bell X1 – Neither Am I
- Bell X1 – Music In Mouth
- The Wallflowers – Bringing Down the Horse
- Gin Blossoms – New Miserable Experience
- Queen – Classic Queen
- Barenaked Ladies – Stunt
I will take this opportunity to plug my music blog over at mog.com, where you can see live updating listings of what I’m listening to at any given time. This thing picks up my iPod listings too, so expect to see a lot of Dave Ramsey on there… some of the sidebars do a better job at listing my top albums and what not.

I like that your three Beatles albums cover three distinctly different phases in the band’s career. Those are all quality albums – from start to finish – and they’re all wonderfully different.
Nice call on Queen too. And when Stunt came out, I was hooooooked for quite a while. I may have to revisit Bell X1 a little more too.
I think mine change a lot, but right now from memory they are:
Modest Mouse – Lonesome Crowded West
Built to Spill – Keep it Like a Secret
Fire Theft – Fire Theft
Pavement – Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain
Stephen Malkmus – Face the Truth
Beatles – Revolver
Smashing Pumpkins – Mellon Collie
Smashing Pumpkins – Siamese Dream
Meat Loaf – Bat Out of Hell 1
Jets to Brazil – Orange Rhyming Dictionary
I was just listening to Abbey Road last night–it had been over a year.
One forgets how amazing it is!
