Tonight I was really suffering from fatigue. Between the kangeiko training this weekend an fighting off a sinus cold, my energy levels were approaching the floor. Thanks to some gentle prodding by my team lead, I did get to the gym and put up a respectable effort. Five miles on the bike, and then a full regiment of weights… I was even able to go up in weight on a few machines.
For whatever reason, the military press and the leg curls were the bane of my existence tonight. I couldn’t do much weight, and I had no endurance for the weight I decided to do. I was advised to go lighter in weight and complete the entire four sets of 15 reps apiece, so that’s what I did.
I spent the rest of the night playing video games with Tasha. It was a quiet, fun night of relaxation for a change. I’m hoping to make it to the dojo tomorrow, but I might do what I did this past week and take a day in between my weights and karate, hitting the dojo on Wednesday and Thursday. I’m getting the point now where I can tell if I keep pushing it I’m going to get really sick, so I’ve been careful about getting enough sleep lately. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow, but I feel pretty good for having worked out tonight!
