This morning, Tasha and I were up bright and early to go to the Denver Botanic Gardens for their free day. It was really cool, they have a Japanese Garden that had a koi pond and also a Jurassic Garden that was planted with all sorts of plants that had prehistoric origins. It was something different and fun this weekend, and we got some great pictures.
Strangely, halfway through our walk in the Botanic Gardens a guy passed me in full-on steampunk regalia. I had never encountered a steampunk aficionado in real life, and since I had my camera I asked him if I could take a picture. He said that was fine, and struck a Victorian-era pose as if he’d done this a thousand times before. I sincerely hope he’s somehow affiliated with the Anime-Con that is going on in Denver, but since I don’t know where that was happening I have no way of verifying that. I’ll post his picture tomorrow.
Now its time for D&D! I made a Key Lime Pie and we’ve got some good Chinese food on the way here. I love D&D night.

I do hope you’ll forgive the somewhat random nature of this comment, but I do believe you encountered an associate of mine at the Botanic Gardens. There was a whole group of us dressed up in full steampunk regalia.
Without a picture with which to make positive identification I can’t be certain, but almost all of us at the Botanic Gardens the other day were at NDK (the major anime convention in Denver) as well.
This is why I love the Internet… I’ll be posting a picture up this evening for you to make a positive identification. I was very impressed with the quality of this gentleman’s clothing, I really do enjoy the steampunk aesthetic! Thanks for commenting, I wish I would’ve met the rest of you yesterday!
