Tonight was my triumphant (ha!) return to the dojo, after a two month break. Now that our Eve schedule is a bit more established, it’s high time that I get back to some stress-relief time and that means a return to the dojo. We started the workout with a ton of basics in a circle, followed by a myriad of kata. We did all of the Heian katas and Tekki Shodan, focused on making a low, purposeful stance. After each Heian kata, we got to do our favorite katas (they have an interesting habit of called them First Individual and Second Individual Kata). I picked Sochin as my First Individual Kata and Nijyushiho as my Second Individual Kata. We closed the night out with a Kanku Dai and then we were done.
My legs were screaming and my back was a little screwed up but i made it through the workout! More next week, I hope… I feel a ton better after the workout.
