The fire is finally contained…

At long last, I think I’m finally through with overheating problems with the MythTV.

Tonight I spent a few hours moving the Myth over to its new CoolerMaster Centurion 5 case. I have to tell you, I’m very impressed with the way things appear so far. I took the opportunity to reorganize the cards so the hot cards had the slot fans in between them.

Couple that with the new case, and I’m already seeing around a 40 degree difference when the system is under load. The new case looks cool too, in addition to having neat features like tool-less drive and card installation.

Hopefully this will be the last “my MythTV is overheating, ARGH” post.
