Last night’s workout was interesting. I was able to get 11 Sochin in before class started, it was a fairly sparse crowd so we ended up doing basics and sparring style combinations during the first class. Those combinations evolved into some basic partner training.
For the second class, these combinations grew into some more advanced partner training. We really focused on maintaining distance and timing, and doing techniques “in one breath”. This is basically multitasking with techniques, blocking and attacking at the same moment.
I realized a few things tonight: I enjoy doing the one-breath thing when I get to move out of the way. Its utterly terrifying when I have to move in to cram a front kick down at the knee, which was the last drill for the night. Interestingly, despite the fact that the air was thick and it was hard to breathe last night,
