I’m feeling much better… I have no idea what was wrong with me on Tuesday, but the clouds parted for Thursday and Saturday and things are shaping back up again.
We had a long night last night and I didn’t get into bed until 3:30 am, so I surprised myself by getting to the workout on time and with the energy to crack out 30 tricep dips and 30 inclined pushups before launching into the Shodan test.
After we got done with that, we went through all the Heian, Tekki, and Sandan-required katas. Then it was time for more strengthening… 60 crunches, 40 crossed leg raises, 5 minutes of hovers… I topped it all off with 20 more tricep dips and 20 more inclined pushups.
Now that I’m past the point of extreme soreness, I don’t mind the strengthening that much. I’m starting to see more definition and I’ve put on 3.5 lbs (I assume, all muscle) since the beginning of last month. I’m feeling stronger, and my endurance is starting to perk up a little the past few workouts.
I hope this strengthening kick lasts past the upcoming Sandan test!
