This post is very interesting because I’m posting it entirely using Dragon Dictation on my iPad. This application is very interesting, you speak and it types what you say. However I’m still experiencing some connection issues that are causing some problems. The connection to the server is doesn’t appear to be the best, but for now it sure beats typing on the keyboard.
It will be some time before I get the hang of that. Dragon sure has come a long way over the years, I first used NaturallySpeaking back in 1999. It could only do a few words at a time, and the error rate was much higher. I wish I understood why this is timing out so badly, nothing else seems to have this problem. I suspect it has to do with load on their servers. It’s getting close to time for me to post this to my blog, so I better wrap this up. This application is great, when it’s working. It is very frustrating when it isn’t, but I do want to give it a fair shot before writing it off.
I do have to say being able to write with your voice is pretty cool. It makes me feel like I belong on Star Trek. Computer, make it so.
