Today Tasha and I wandered down to Littleton to pick up my band saw from Sears. The box fit perfectly in the back of my CR-V but it took two guys the size of my cousin John to lift it in there (a 227 lb box will do that). Once we got it home, Tasha and I got it moved from the CR-V into the garage and Tasha spied the reason why it was discounted so far… it was a closeout item and was marked used. It was in the original factory box even!
I opened the box and this thing wasn’t very used… it looks as if it was a floor model: the ruler and guide were not scratched or dirty at all. It seems that the band saw itself was assembled, but I won’t know for sure until I unpack it and set it up. Providing everything works, I am really pleased with this purchase. I will try putting it together tomorrow after Church and brunch! Fun!

Your CR-V? I thought it was Tasha’s CR-V. 🙂
Also, though my comment apparently did post, it threw an error making it seem like it didn’t. Just so you know.
I’ve been having problems with some Internal Server Errors from this WordPress installation, I haven’t had the time to strip out all the stuff I’m not using to determine the culprit. Thanks for letting me know it’s affecting other people that aren’t me though… that might raise the priority a bit.
And yes, my CR-V. My name was on the check that bought the thing, so it’s at least partly mine. 🙂
Which one did you get. I got this one: http://www.grizzly.com/products/The-Ultimate-14-Bandsaw/G0555
I also got the riser kit so it can cut 12 inch tall boards. I’m very happy with it. My favorite shop tool.
I got this one. Not sure if it has the ability to take a riser, I’m curious how that works.
